INTRODUCTION

Established in the year 1990, the history of the Department of Botanical & Environmental Sciences goes back to 1973 when the Guru Nanak Dev University established Department of Biology, of which plant sciences were an integral constituent. Since then the Department has been progressing on all fronts and has been performing its bonafide duties to the students and the society.
